Where can I wash my car at HDB?

Only at the designated washing bays inside selected HDB multi-storey car parks — not in an ordinary parking lot. Each bay has a high-pressure jet spray and an industrial vacuum, so you can wash and clean the car yourself without booking a full-service wash. Washing in a normal lot or by the roadside isn’t allowed — the soap and runoff into the public drains is the problem — so use a proper bay from the list below.

What time can I use an HDB car wash bay?

The bays are self-service, so you can generally use one whenever the car park is open — most HDB multi-storey car parks are accessible round the clock, so early mornings and late nights are fair game and usually the quietest. Some machines display posted operating hours (the timing) on the panel, so glance at the notice before a very late wash. There’s no booking; it’s first come, first served.

How much does an HDB jet spray car wash cost?

A couple of dollars for a full wash-and-vacuum. Prices vary slightly by town council and operator, but the typical rates are:

• Jet spray (high-pressure water): around $1 for ~3 minutes
• Vacuum: around $1 for ~5 minutes
• Tap / dispensed water: around $0.20 for every 30 seconds

Older machines are coin-only, so bring $1 coins. Many newer machines also take cashless payment (scan a QR to pay), so you’re not caught out without change. Confirm the exact rate posted on the machine, as it differs between operators.

How do I use an HDB washing bay?

Park in the marked washing bay, pay (coins or cashless), and start with the jet spray to blast grime and soot off the tyres, rims and undercarriage. Drop to a gentler pressure for the panels and paintwork so you don’t strip the finish, then vacuum the carpets and seats and wipe down.
