Michelin Star Restaurants Singapore

Anonymous food critics pay their own bill in order to ensure impartiality in the judging of restaurants in the Michelin starred category. The original creators of the star rating system were the French brothers douard and André Michelin.

The rating system was created for the Michelin Guide and is now used around the world. There are currently three 3-star restaurants in Singapore, according to the Michelin Guide Singapore and the list is updated yearly.

What is the Michelin Guide?

The Michelin Guide is a restaurant guide that awards Michelin stars to restaurants of excellence. The stars are awarded for cooking quality, the quality of the ingredients, and the personality of the chef.

The Michelin Guide was first published in 1900 by Andre and Edouard Michelin to encourage people to use cars rather than horses.

It was originally just a guide for French drivers, as they needed to know where they could find a place to eat or sleep while on their journey. The first star awarded to a restaurant was given in 1926 in France.

How to Get a Michelin Star in Singapore?

Michelin stars are awarded to restaurants that offer the best food and service. The Michelin Guide is a prestigious award and is considered to be one of the most important restaurant awards in the world.

The Michelin Guide has been around for over 100 years and it was originally founded by Andre and Edouard Michelin in France. Today, it is published annually in 23 countries with approximately 30 new restaurants being added each year.

There are a few different categories of Michelin stars that are awarded. The 3-star is the most prized and it denotes that the restaurant has exceptional cuisine worth a special journey. 2-star restaurants offer excellent cuisine that is worth detouring from an itinerary and, 1-star restaurants offer very good food worth visiting as well.

Testimonial

“This is the best restaurant experience I’ve had. Completely worth every penny. We left full and satisfied. My fav dish was the egg in the mushroom shaped cup. It was just egg. But wow, was it amazing. My fiance loved the beet root dish. For such a simple ingredient, we were treated to a world of beet and its uses. Amaze balls! We enjoyed everything. So much so that, even though we were getting full, we opted in for the cheese spread and was not disappointed. The staff were great, funny, and didn’t judge us when we asked to keep the bread and leftover sauce. I would definitely come back and spend another grand or so. I sometimes think of Odette and it lifts my spirit.”

“Food: simple seasonal ingredients and extremely effective recipes. We went for the degustation menu and every single dish was fantastic, from the steamed uni, the asperges to the duck duo with foie gras. Plating was pleasant without being overcomplicated. Testimonial

“Evolved Elegance. Respect for the ingredients with a nuanced style. i adored the cuisine and total experience at Jaan and this talented chef. One feedback, arriving prior to the restaurant is disappointing, you have to walk through a mall and outside to arrive and the vendor check at the “welcome” (not). it is some “student” who is juggling delivery rider and really not very unhelpful. Truly not a 2 star experience. (I hope they try fix this). the valet (they used to have) could “shortcut” this process and the driveway has space. On to the good stuff. Great dishes, beautifully presented. Favorites for me, the white asparagus caviar, roasted Langoustine. Most things paired beautifully with a nice champagne. Love a little, enjoy the view over some exquisite bubbles and cuisine. Kirk and team will take really good care of you. once you are upstairs. I even thought an “auntie” who i ran into on my way down was very friendly and engaging. I was so impressed.”

The virtual dinner parties organized by Saint Pierre in Singapore were a huge success. “One of the best sushi courses in SG. Edo-style sushi so you can expect a very clean tasting sushi where the main focus is on the fresh fish itself. So simple and yet so so good.”

Testimonial

“Stunning dinner. Every element was so thoughtful and considered, and artfully arranged. Quality was excellent and service top-notch. I’m not keen on nor have tried fish liver but what I tasted here was absolutely delicious. What’s interesting is how much we loved the sushi rice which is chewier and prepared with aged vinegar. It truly elevated the seafood. Can’t wait to return!”

28 Wilkie is a small, unpretentious restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant itself is not pretentious or ostentatious, with a simple layout and decor. 28 Wilkie may not be the type of restaurant that has everyone talking, but it’s definitely one that has a loyal following.

It’s the city’s first caviar bar, and it serves five varieties of black gold from its own farm. It also offers tasting flights or individually, with an interesting wine list to match.

This restaurant prepares a modern take on Italian food. One of its popular dishes is also known as Piedmont tajarin pasta that is served with lobster, pesto, and lemon. This is the secret of the owner’s grandmother’s recipe! This restaurant is a must-try!
