We can now take afternoon tea and a drink at the long bar at Raffles Hotel off the bucket list. Afternoon tea is a wonderful experience in relaxed and sumptuous surroundings. We elected to start with a glass of French champagne, followed by daintily cut sandwiches and rich mini cakes over Mariage Ferers tea. The highlight was the staff and their attentiveness to ensuring a pleasurable afternoon. The tea, in my case the earl grey was the best tea I have ever tasted and added enormously to our enjoyment. Tea at Raffles is an expensive experience and while we really enjoyed it and have no regrets, it may be worthwhile comparing alternatives such as the Fullerton Hotel, unless of course it is also on your bucket list.
