What Is A Steak?
A steak is a cut of beef that is generally cooked by grilling, pan-frying, or broiling.
There are many types of steaks and they can be made out of beef, pork, lamb, and other meats. The most common types are the rib steak, the sirloin steak (also called a strip steak), or the T-bone steak.
What Are The Different Types Of Steaks?
There are several different types of steaks, and they all have their own flavor and texture. The most common types of steak are ribeye, filet mignon, and New York Strip.
Ribeye is made from the rib section of a beef carcass. It has a full-bodied flavor with a tender texture. Filet mignon is cut from the tenderloin or fillet near the spine and is considered to be one of the most tender cuts of beef. New York Strip is cut from the top loin muscle on one side of the backbone and has a flavorful taste with a slightly chewy texture.
How Do You Cook A Steak?
Cooking a steak is a tricky task. You need to get the timing right and know how to cook it on the grill. It’s not as easy as it seems.
In this section, we will be talking about how you can cook a steak in 5 easy steps:
- Make sure that your grill is preheated on high heat.

“Had a fabulous birthday dinner here at CUT by Wolfgang puck. The service here is excellent especially Michelle who was looking after our table was very attentive and nice. Food wise we I had the rib eye steak where my friends had lamp chops and salmon . The rib-eye made medium was definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had. Desserts we had the apple crumble and ice cream sorbet selections, and the chocolate soufflé . Staff were also very kind in writing happy birthday on the dishes which is very appreciative. We brought along a cake from a nearby cake shop but due to reasons we were not able to consume inside CUT- however staff were very nice in displaying and allowing photos with the cake. Drinks wise the cocktails are also a must have , had the rough love which seems to be one of the signatures. Overall a very impressive dinner!”

“It’s a good restaurant for steak. We had tomahawk steak (280SGD++) and soup. Especially, I liked the soup with black truffles (29SGD++). Red wine from Napa valley (90SGD++) was a good for steak. The price might be expensive, but please try it when you stay at W hotel in Sentosa Cove.”

Among the many options at this restaurant are Wagyu beef from Australia and Japan and American and USDA-approved prime Wagyu. It’s almost impolite to add anything else to your steak because the beef is so scrumptious. The black truffle with red wine and green peppercorn sauces, on the other hand, are excellent viable options.

“Great service and views. Definitely a celebration type of place. Food-wise, looks and tastes good… but not “wow, I’ve got to return soon” level, so one less star here. To be fair, we had the set lunch, it might be different if we had different menu? Favourite was the praline tart (it was a surprise in the mouth).”

“My friends and I shared a total of 9 dishes. Among the 3 starters, I loved the spicy crispy pig’s ear the most, as it was a unique take on fries. The grilled ox tongue was also delightfully tender. The main course came along with 3 side dishes, including the grilled mushrooms, which was my favourite, with the delectable “green goddess” sauce. The creamed curly kale, with the parmesan crusted egg, was not like anything I’ve had before either. Our steak was a Jack’s Creek F1 Wagyu MS 4/5 Deckle, with a portion big enough for 4 to share. The steak was really tender and had a strong aroma of beef (of course). It was served with bordelaise and scampi butter, which blew my mind. I’ve never had scampi butter, and the strong umami flavour of the sea complemented the steak perfectly. To complete the meal, two desserts were served. While we were surprised that Eton Mess was an interesting interpretation of the traditional mango sago pomelo dessert, Fat Belly’s tiramisu was the real crowd pleaser. After all, nothing ends off a good meal better than a moist and decadent cake with just a hint of bitterness”

“Finally decided to try this place as I have been a long time supporter of Aston’s and would usually order the Wagyu. The Wagyu ribeye here is definitely fattier than the one I usually have at Aston’s. On first bite it was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I like that you have the option to go for a petite 150g or standard 220g. I opted for the petite Wagyu ribeye rare as I wanted to order a chawanmushi appetiser. I love the chawanmushi it is so soft and smooth, only wishing there was a bigger size! The baked potato here is also huge! Was here around 3-4pm for a late lunch and it was totally empty which was a plus for me as I prefer my quiet. Would come back again.”

⭐ Customer Reviews Based On Their Experience
“My husband and I had a great time at Butcher’s Block, appreciating the beautifully plated and yummy dishes on the Tour de Force menu. Our favourites are definitely the baby corn, oysters, dry aged duck and wagyu striploin. Love the creative yet well-balanced fusion of the dishes that had given them all such a unique flavours. The sourdough ice cream is so interesting that we love so much as well. The restaurant has a great and cozy ambience, together with the great attention from the friendly staff that makes this such a wonderful dinner experience for us. Highly recommended and would definitely revisit.”
