ERP Rates Singapore: The Orchard Cordon Switches Back On Today, 7 September 2026

Weekday ERP resumes across the Orchard Cordon from today, 7 September 2026. Eleven gantries that have been charging nothing go to $1.00 per passenger car unit between 11am and 7pm. The Orchard Cordon had been suspended because traffic in the area no longer warranted a charge. LTA restarted it because congestion returned: speeds around Orchard have sat below optimal since October 2025, and the charge is the lever they use to pull them back up.

All eleven Orchard Cordon locations take the same $1.00 weekday charge:

A cordon works differently from a single expressway gantry: it rings the area, so the charge applies on the way in from whichever direction you approach. Eleven gantries is one boundary, not eleven separate charges.

What isn't changing

The CTE (AYE) before Braddell Road keeps its current rates in this revision. LTA notes that speeds there have persistently run below optimal and that it will consider extending the hours of ERP operation if congestion continues — a change to when the gantry charges rather than to what it charges. Nothing has been announced for it yet.

Saturday operations on the Orchard Cordon also stay suspended. LTA has said it will assess over the next quarter whether to bring them back, so this is the change most likely to appear in the next revision.

How the ERP charge is worked out

Three things set what any single pass costs:

• Which gantry. Every location prices separately, because each is managing its own stretch of road.
• What time you pass. Rates are set in half-hour bands, so a charge can differ between 8.00am and 8.30am at the same gantry. It is the moment you cross that counts.
• What you drive. Charges are expressed per passenger car unit, and larger vehicles pay more than smaller ones. A car is the reference; motorcycles pay less and heavy vehicles more.

LTA reviews the rates quarterly, and separately during the June and December school holidays, when traffic thins out and charges are often cut for the period. That is why an ERP figure quoted in a blog post is only as good as its date: four revisions a year plus two holiday adjustments means a rate can move six times in twelve months.

Where the rate for a specific gantry lives

Per-gantry, per-half-hour rates aren’t something to memorise, and no third-party page keeps all of them current through six revisions a year. LTA publishes them two ways: an interactive map on OneMotoring organised by gantry location, and downloadable rate tables by effective date. The tables are the authoritative version, and each carries the date it takes effect — the one to look for today is dated 7 September 2026.
