The Dempsey Project is an all-day dining spot and gourmet grocer in the old barracks at Dempsey Hill. It works as both a sit-down café-restaurant and a place to pick up specialty produce on the way out.

The kitchen runs a playful mix of international dishes, from weekend brunch staples to lighter Ayurvedic plates. You can eat inside or on the terrace overlooking the greenery. The signature TDP Wagyu Beef Burger runs around $31.

The grocery side stocks cured meats, patés, spreads and small-batch produce, plus hampers and gift boxes if you want to put together a picnic or a present.

Worth it for: a leisurely Dempsey brunch or lunch where you can also do a bit of gourmet grocery shopping, rather than a quick bite. Where: Block 9 Dempsey Road, #01-12. Hours: Monday to Thursday and Sunday, 8am to 9pm; Friday and Saturday, 8am to 10:30pm. Book through their website or on Chope.
