Pat-A-Cat is a cat cafe on Joo Chiat Road that doubles as a home for rescued cats and kittens, several of them up for adoption straight from the cafe.

You pay for cafe time with the cats and can order snacks and drinks while you're there, from spam fries ($6) and gyozas to coffee and tea. One of the residents, Kerry, is FIV-positive, and the owners use her to explain that FIV+ cats live normal lifespans and don't usually infect other pets.

Worth it for: cat lovers who want a quieter, rescue-focused cafe and are open to adopting, rather than a slick commercial cat cafe.
