Baker & Cook at Dempsey is an artisan bakery, café and foodstore on Loewen Road, in the Dempsey Hill cluster. It was started by baker and patissier Dean Brettschneider, and this branch does sit-down meals as well as counter buys.
The bakery side is breads, pastries and cakes, with coffee, tea and juice to go with them. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Big Breakfast with sourdough runs about $28. For groups they do catering packs and whole cakes, handy for an office spread or a party order. It's a full-day spot, open from breakfast through dinner.
