The Singapore Buffet Price Index (2026): what buffets really cost
We track the current, per-head price of every Singapore buffet worth knowing — each figure verified against the venue's own page and dated. This is what that data says about the real cost of eating at a buffet in 2026: the median price, the gap between the cheapest all-you-can-eat and a hotel spread, and how much the “++” quietly adds before you take a single plate.
Every number below is computed from the 22 buffets we price-check, using the lowest per-head sitting at each (usually weekday lunch). Prices are shown nett— with service charge and GST included — so they're comparable.
What each type costs
Median entry price by category, nett per adult. The spread within a category is often wider than the gap between categories.
| Category | Median | Range | Tracked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Korean BBQ & steamboat | $27.46 | $19.06–$27.46 | 3 |
| Japanese (sushi & shabu) | $35.73 | $22.77–$83.81 | 5 |
| Chinese & dim sum | $86.33 | $35.97–$93.52 | 3 |
| Hotel international | $81.53 | $40–$103 | 11 |
What the numbers say
- You pay ~20% before you eat. Almost every buffet prices in “++”. That adds 19.9% — 10% service, then 9% GST on the total — so a headline $83.40++ is really $100 nett. The sticker is never the price.
- A hotel spread costs about 5.4× the cheapest AYCE. The range runs from $19.06 nett (GoroGoro Steamboat) to $103 at The Landmark Restaurant — for a meal that is, at heart, the same format.
- Halal doesn't cost more at the value end. 7 of the 22 we track are halal-certified, and the cheapest — Seoul Garden at $27.46 nett — sits right among the cheapest buffets overall.
- Weekday lunch is the single biggest lever. Every figure here is the lowest sitting — usually weekday lunch. The same kitchens at dinner or on weekends routinely cost 20–40% more for the same or barely-wider spread.
- Best rating-per-dollar: GoroGoro Steamboat (4.4★, $19.06), Shabu Sai (4★, $22.77), Captain Kim (4.8★, $27.46) — where a high Google rating meets a low nett price.

How we built this
We take the lowest advertised per-head sitting at each buffet, verified against the venue's own page or booking platform and dated on the source listicle. Prices in “++” are converted to nett at ×1.199 (10% service, then 9% GST on the total) so every venue is comparable. Median is the middle value, which resists a few very expensive outliers better than an average. Re-checked monthly; when a price moves, the index moves.
